Two issues are published each year. Proposals for themed issues are very welcome. Any articles, in English or French, submitted for publication should be sent by email to the editor-in-chief. Contributors may refer to the style sheet but in any case editors will ensure that the chosen house style is used. Contributors should ensure that they obtain all necessary authorisations for use of copyright materials before submitting. Books and other materials for review should be sent to the editor-in-chief at the following address:

Brief history
Cahiers were created as the newsletter of the Association for French Language Studies in 1995 and was published in print form until 2003. It served firstly as a notice board for the activities of the Association, notifying of forthcoming conferences and workshops as well as disseminating other kinds of information, such as changes in membership of the Committee. It presented reports on workshops, conferences and book reviews and under the editorship of Stephen Noreiko (1995-1999), an amusing editorial mainly devoted to the quirks of French neologisms. From the outset, short refereed articles were included which may be consulted in the archive. In 2003 Cahiers went online under the editorship of Tim Pooley then supported by Gaëlle Planchenault and moved more towards its role as an academic journal, particularly but by no means exclusively, encouraging the work of new researchers. Of course these days hot-news items and announcements of future activities are better placed on AFLS-NEWS.
Since January 2010, Cahiers has become an academic journal with an international editorial board. Cahiers is published twice a year (in March and September).
